Editorial Policy
Last updated: September 24, 2026
Brands do not see reviews before they are published and cannot pay to change a verdict, a score or a ranking. If a brand ever gives us a product, the brand gets no editorial input, and the review says so.
Every statement about what an ingredient does links to its source. We rely on systematic reviews, meta-analyses and randomized controlled trials, with position stands from scientific societies, NIH Office of Dietary Supplements fact sheets and the National Academies' Dietary Reference Intakes as background. For each study finding we say who was studied, what dose they took, how big the effect was and where the evidence runs out. When a source's authors report ties to supplement companies, we say so next to the citation. We never say a supplement treats, cures, prevents or mitigates a disease.
We update reviews when a formula or certification changes, when a price change affects the Value score, or when new research changes an evidence grade, and we date every update. Corrections are made on the page with a dated note, never silently. Our scoring rubric is public on the How We Rate page. If you think we got something wrong, including a citation, tell us through the Contact page and we will look at it.
